Peter "Big Daddy" Labella Sr. represents one of the original coaching forces behind the player-development culture that helped shape Vinny D'Ambrosio III's bowling circle.

Long before The VD3 Experience had a name, Big Daddy was already doing the work training bowlers, building discipline, teaching fundamentals, and helping young players understand that real improvement comes from repetition, structure, and commitment to the process.

More than 20 years ago, Peter became one of Vinny's go-to coaches for youth bowlers. Together, they helped develop numerous players, combining Vinny's bowling knowledge with Peter's intense, discipline-driven approach to training. With a background filled with martial arts accomplishments, Peter brought a different kind of standard to coaching one built on focus, balance, body control, toughness, and accountability.

That standard became legendary. Young bowlers would train with Peter's sons at "Big Daddy's" house, working through essential bowling drills designed to build stability, consistency, footwork, timing, and trust in the process. Those sessions earned the house a nickname:

The Dungeon.

It wasn't about punishment. It was about preparation. The Dungeon was where bowlers learned to do the work when nobody was watching, repeat the details until they became natural, and build the discipline needed to compete.

Peter's coaching impact can be seen in the bowlers he helped transform. One example was Matt Mignone, whose approach and footwork needed to be rebuilt from the ground up. Big Daddy helped reshape Matt's footing and foundation and after that work, Matt went on to cash in Las Vegas.

As a VD3 Legacy Coach, Peter "Big Daddy" Labella Sr. represents the coaching backbone behind the VD3 legacy: discipline, drills, toughness, fundamentals, and belief in what a bowler can become when they commit to the work.
